Today CISA’s Office for Chemical Security (OCS) updated the data on the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) Monthly Statistics page to show data from July 2021 for the activity of chemical facility inspectors (CSI) and the status of facilities covered by the program.
CSI Activities
The table below shows the activities of CSI for the month of July.
We continue to see a high level of activity by the CSI. We have only had one month with a higher total level of activity since COVID-19 activity began in March of last year. The relatively high level of Compliance Assistance activity reflects the number of facilities that had entered the CFATS program in recent months.
Facility Status
The table below shows the status of facilities in the CFATS program.
A simple analysis (sum of the change in each category) of the numbers would seem to indicate that was a net loss of four facilities from the program last month which would have required the additions of two new facilities. If more facilities were added to the program, then more facilities would have had to have left.
